Happy day late birthday for Georgie! Wow, what an amazing Beatle he was, eh?
This is in my top ten favourite Beatles songs of all time. I remember the first couple times I listened to Rubber Soul in it's entirety. Just a great set of 14 songs.
I performed at a restaurant today with my band. It went really well. We played a Zeppelin medley, an original song (I'll post it soon when we get it recorded), and Jimi's version of "All Along The Watchtower".

The Only Living Boy In New York

Well, today I'm at home sick. I've had a random occuring cough/headache/fever for the last two days. I don't get sick often so it's a weird feeling.

For Valentine's Day my parents got me "Rust Never Sleeps". I'm going to watch that today - I cannot wait. And read some of Shakey and maybe watch The Graduate, which I'm now very much in the mood for. But maybe I'll just go back to sleep.
Also, I've decided to only consume tea today to clear out my system. (I'm kinda a dork, eh?)

Earlier I had already decided what song I was going to do today, but then I completely changed my mind. I listened to this Simon & Garfunkel song and realized I would be a fool not to post it today because it's the song I've been listening to the most lately. I'll post that other song later when I feel it the right time, I guess it wasn't the right time for it today.
Anyway, this song is on the "Garden State" soundtrack (but the song was realesed on "Bridge Over Troubled Water"), which is a very nice soundtrack. I usually don't like soundtracks that much either. There is another song on that CD I'll probably be posting.
Simon & Garfunkel are a dream to me. Just the music I look for to feel good and content. And this song is perfect for listening to when you want to get away from the fake world to find the real one in your head.

Factory Girl

Hey guys, hope you had a nice Valentine's Day. If you didn't have a good one, then tomorrow's a normal day again so no need to worry. Mine was fine, definitely better than others.

This song is one of the most important songs to me. I love it more than anything...it fills my heart so much. It's so amazing. I really can't put my feelings into words!

I remember the day I fell in love. I was at the park watching my sister play softball. It was probably in August. I had on a really great dress. I had just bought "Beggars Banquet" and it was on my iPod so I was listening to all the songs. Usually when I buy an album it takes me a while to listen to all the songs because I don't have patience with things I don't know, but this album was different. This song is the second to last song on the album - number nine. It's so special to me. This album is really fabulous, but this song one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.

Rio

I'm going to start randomly posting the lyrics to some of my favourite songs. These are the stable songs in my life. The ones I don't get tired of and listen to almost daily. I don't know how long this will go on for...but it will be a nice way to get this all down somewhere so I will always know.

I love pasta, it really is fantastic. Just with veggie oil and salt...maybe a little parmasion cheese.
I am also watching American Idol. I dont know if I like it. The audiotions are okay. Wow there are these twins singing. I think they sound good. I havent heard the second one yet.
I'm also excited about Valentines Day! I don't know, even if it's commercial....I love love.
Wow, I'm positive right now.

I got tagged!

Okay, I have to list five interesting facts about myself.

1) The first song I learend how to play on the guitar was "I Want You Around" by the Ramones.

2) When I'm in cars I have a compulsive feeling that I have to open the car doors while the car is in drive...so I always tell my parents to lock them. If the doors can't lock, it takes way too much effort for me not to open them.

3) I have been a vegetarian since June 18th, 2004 (Paul McCartney's birthday).

4) I long to live on "That 70's Show" with Steven Hyde and Eric Foreman.

5) I have vivid dreams almost every night that I remember very well. I love it because I feel like I'm living two lives: one where anything can happen and one were only the ordinary things happens.

I am going to tag Kevin and Tallulah (but I don't know how so I just said their names).

Alan Parsons

Tonight my father and I went to Webster University to listen to a recording engineer by the name of Alan Parsons. I'm sure some of you know who he is, and if you don't (I didn't until yesterday) he engineered Dark Side Of the Moon and stood in at Beatles recording sessions for the album Abbey Road. He also had some records of his own.

I learned a lot about recording songs in general! A lot of it went over my head though, the types of microphones used and the names of equipment, etc. But it was amazing.

The whole time people just asked questions and he answered (this went on from 7:10 to 9:20). I asked him about standing in on Beatles sessions and what the Beatles preffered when they recorded. I kind of thought he would answer like "Oh well George always liked to play right after Ringo put the drum tracks down, and Paul would always record last..." but instead he talked about the equipment they used for the album and that they started out using an 8-track. This was good enough for me though.

One of the last questions asked was, "If you could produce or engineer the album of any artist or band out there, which would it be?" and his response was "Well, I've always been a Townshend fan." He also said he wished he could have worked on Tommy. Of course when he said Townshend I freaked out. My dad pointed out that if he had engineered, it wouldn't be Tommy anymore!

At the end we went up to meet him (he's a tall and big man, he had on a really groovy purple jacket). I told him about my band and us owning an 8-track. He gave me some advice about some good recording magazines and then he wished me good luck. I think that's the best good luck I've ever been wished!
