lose your dreams and you will lose your mind, ain't life unkind?

I got tagged!

Okay, I have to list five interesting facts about myself.

1) The first song I learend how to play on the guitar was "I Want You Around" by the Ramones.

2) When I'm in cars I have a compulsive feeling that I have to open the car doors while the car is in drive...so I always tell my parents to lock them. If the doors can't lock, it takes way too much effort for me not to open them.

3) I have been a vegetarian since June 18th, 2004 (Paul McCartney's birthday).

4) I long to live on "That 70's Show" with Steven Hyde and Eric Foreman.

5) I have vivid dreams almost every night that I remember very well. I love it because I feel like I'm living two lives: one where anything can happen and one were only the ordinary things happens.

I am going to tag Kevin and Tallulah (but I don't know how so I just said their names).

Hi Claire,
Cool tag list! I have been vegeterian since 1991. Hard to believe, but there you go.
You can just to visit the blogs of the people you want to tag and tell them you've done it. Easy as pie.

Cheers,
AM

That is quite a list.
Of course #2 worries me. But, the truth is, I think that it is a common impulse. DON'T YOU EVER GIVE INTO IT!!!!
As for #5, I have been like that my whole life. It is a blessing and a curse. Both of my daughters are just like me, they wake up every morning, having to share every detail of their vivid dreams.
I'm glad you enjoy this gift.
Thanks for your visit, it's always nice to hear from you.

I love that 70s Show except the new ones. Mostly because I was that age in the 70s.

When I was a little younger than you, I dreamed of meeting The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones. I loved British men and rock'n'roll. Well, I accomplished two of my dreams. The closest that I got to meeting The Beatles was when I saw them in '66 at Busch Stadium. I managed to get really good seats and got Ringo's autograph.
John and Keith took me and my girlfriend to Chicago for three days and nights after their show in St. Louis. (I have one of my pictures of the show that night on my blog.) I met Roger the next morning after the show and the rest is history ;)

Since you like The Beatles, you should come to one of my husband's gigs sometime. A link to their website and schedule is on my blog. Sorry we missed the Alan Parsons' appearance....didn't even hear about it until now.

Don't ever give up on your dreams!

Love, Denise

Oh, #2 sounds a bit dangerous! Fight the urge!

For #1, I love the Ramones, songs like Beat on the Brat. I've only got a greatest hits album but the good thing about the Ramones is that you don't need to own each and every album since the songs are pretty much the same format.

Thank you for your comment on my blog. Gibson SG?...there are so many types. If you scroll down my blog, you see my SG. There are many subtle differences in them down through the years. Notice my pick guard. Notice the pickups. They change in makes, models, years. Mine has a "sixties" style neck (I am told). I is a "61 Re-issue" model.

Pete has often used an SG with P-90 pickups. My SG is not the same. It has full size humbuckers. There is quite a difference. The humbuckers are more along the lines of a Les Paul sound. In fact, the SG was supposed to be the "next generation" to the Les Paul...but it isn't. They are really quite different. Especially the weight! The SG is light.

I bought mine in 1978 upon reccomendation from a friend. It is a 1971 0r '72 model (of the "'61 re-issue"). If I go to the Guitar Center and look at what they have new for sale, mine feels like a jewel compared to the newer ones. I picked up a new one in the store to try out...several weeks ago and it felt much "cheaper"...it was not the same as mine, no way...but of course, if you want my model of guitar, it will cost you much more. I have heard there is an Epiphone, new, with P-90 style pickups in it out there. I want to look up that one. It may be cool, for the money.

If I could go back in time, I might rather have had the P-90's and the SG. I like the sound of both though. The P-90's are not the big sound of the double coil humbuckers, but they are beautiful. Then again, B.B. King uses humbuckers...

Then there are the Stratocasters. So many of the "older" rockers are moving to them. Of course, many always had them in the past too. They have the single coils (though not like P-90's). The "clean" sound is very versatile, especially with the mutilple switch settings available on the Strat.

Around and around it goes.

Don't do what I did, and wait too long to learn and play. It is tough being a Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and guitar guy...when I am still learning all these things!

Sincerely,

--Dan L.
