Tommy

Today, I had a friend over. She's still sort of a new friend. I don't hang out with a lot of people, I'm very picky lately. She isn't even the type of person I am, I don't believe. But she's growing me. You see, I'm so possesive. I think I've said that before. But we watched a little bit of Almost Famous, and then went in my room and I can't believe I was okay with doing this...but I put Tommy on and lit some candles and we just layed there on the floor listening to it. I felt okay too, because I was sharing their music, that's the important part.
Yesterday I watched a new documentary I got. It's about Who's Next, part of a Classic Albums collection. I got so inspired to write when I saw Pete there with all of his synths. I am going to work on some things tonight, and maybe post them later = )
Have good nights.
Everything's alright.

That's exactly the kind of thing I used to do! It's true. I didn't have any Who albums when I was 14 but I had Diamond Dogs and Here Come The Warm Jets! And ALL of The Beatles.
Those guys have been inspiring people to pick up a guitar and write songs for a long bloody time.

Claire,
Thanks for sharing here. It really helps me, to better understand my own daughter. She too has been picky with who she is hanging out with. It makes me worry, but she says she is just fine. So, because it has been so long since I was 14 (as I am constantly being reminded) I am glad to get another perspective.

I am so glad that you felt you could share "TOMMY" and Almost Famous with a new friend.

Yes, it is very cool for Pete to be your muse..

take care, dear.

To beautiful CLAIRE,
Thanks for your sweet comment. It has been nice to catch up with all your posts. Your knowledge and love of music history would make any bonafide rock historian proud.
I remember being fourteen and squaring off in detention with a teacher (not one of my regular ones)and made her out to be a bit of a chump via ACDC on a walkman. To make a long story short she became very vindictive and months later there was quite the scene (w/me the 'winner' of course ;)
How nice it was to come home that day to 'Who Came First' and my warped, worn copy of Tommy and listen to 'Underture' as the needle bobbed up and down on the turntable; everything made sense again.

All roads lead to England,
Love Super Amanda

Claire, I saw that Classic Albums show feturing Who's Next on VH1 Classics last month. It was really good and the whole series is great (as long as you have any interest in the featured band).

By the way, I bought The Who’s Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 DVD. Great stuff!

Hi Claire, I would be very interested to know what documentary that was regarding Who's Next.

I find Who music so inspiring, I love to be moved and inspired by music.

Can't wait to hear more of what you have been up to musically.

Hi Claire,
It's great to have friends, and it is not a bad thing to be picky. It makes it easier to find out who's real and who's using you. I've had numerous friends who turned out to be bad, but now I have one best friend that is great, I hope your friend is a good one too.

I love Rock movies! Almost Famous and Tommy are two of my favorites.

Having Pete as a Muse is a great thing too!

Take care.

My daughter and I just watched the movie Tommy last night. It was her first time seeing it. She's 11. IT is a weird movie, but she enjoyed it.

Hi Claire,
do you have any MP3's of your band that I can feature on Songs From The Grid, my blogger station over on IAC?
