Razorlight

Hey everyone! Wow, I do feel a tiny bit famous now! Nice feeling it is.
Thanks for all the fantastic comments. It was so amazing being on ITA, and I hope all the bloggers know how much they are loved by Rachel. She's such a great girl.
Actually, I did have a little wine before I went on...

Last night my father and I went to the Royal Albert Hall to see Razorlight. It is a beautiful place. We are now kicking ourselves for not having the camera!
Two opening bands: Boy Kill Boy and Dogs. They were really cool.
On the ticket it said "Razorlight, with very special guest." I was really excited. We thought maybe it was Clapton!
Then Roger came out before they come on! I was so happy - it was a real surprise!
I was on Cloud Nine! He came out and talked, along with a boy who has suffered cancer but has recovered now I believe. It's so great that Rog contributes to the Teenage Cancer Trust Fund and organized these concerts.
So then Razorlight came out. I didn't know their music well, but the lead singer is really groovy. He came out into the audience and started singing. I thought he was really cool about everything. People were screaming and yelling his name and singing along and he never really even smiled. He acted like it was all normal and I just thought that was interesting.
Then the encore happened. And wow, guess what? Roger Daltrey performed "Summertime Blues". Oh god, pinch me! Two Who members in two nights! Too much for me to handle. But somehow I did because I'm here today.
He even twirled his microphone. My dad and I were going crazy. I felt bad because I wasn't really feeling the concert too much (kinda tired and had to use the loo but the line was way too long at the beginning of the concert), then he came out and I was screaming my head off, and clapping and jumping and even the occasional "I LOVE YOU ROGER!!".
Dreams really do come true, I have found out this week more than one time.
I do believe that Music Is The Answer, and I know you guys do too.
So let's here it for every rocker we've ever fallen in love with or felt connected to. Every song we've listened to nine times in a row.
What a great feeling.
We're all in it together, you know?
xoxo

In The Attic

Well, that was the most amazing day of my life. Really, no kidding.
I loved being on In The Attic. Mikey and Rachel were soooo great. It made me feel at home, you know?
And Tracie is amazing! We had some great times.
Simon was so cute! And Aley was very fab and fun to talk to.
Hannah Townshend's very nice also, we need to go shopping in the States.
And of course meeting Pete Townshend was very gear. I'm watching him play right now on the loop. It's so wonderful hearing them all sing together. Such special people!
What an honor to meet everybody. Didn't they all sound great?
They are so amazing to do this for my father and me.
Thank you everyone for supporting me. I'll send a CD in for Rachel or Tracie, and I'll post some stuff here, too. When I get back to St. Louis I'll get the pictures up!
Perfect day.
Long live rock
xoxo

Forever's No Time At All

Rachel invited me to be on ITA.
I was dreaming about that happening! Never thought it would. I don't know what to do! Am in a state of shock. Hopefully she meant this Wednesday. If next, then I will just have to quit school!
So you guys really wouldn't mind hearing me play a song or something in the same room as Rachel and maybe even...Pete?
Thank you for cheering me on and letting me know you wouldn't mind. I am still in shock right now. Rachel, you are an angel. Of course you are, I already new it. Wow.
Last song I will post...I fell in love with this song so badly. Come off of my favourite Pete solo album entitled "Who Came First". Billie Nicholls sings it, amazing. Michael McInnenny's wife wrote it. Pete plays lead.
Perfect day to post it because today seems to be the best one I've ever had.
I love all of you!

Forever's No Time At All
Billie Nicholls/Mclumemy

And nothing sure is forever
When forever's no time at all
As I lie amongst the heather bed
High above the ocean's roar

I seem to hear my name being called
Yet who am I waiting for
And I love the lover who loves with
All the love he has and more

And now that the summer's ending
And your baby cries out to sea
I do feel that I am drowning
In the love that you're sending me

And now that the summer's ending
And your baby cries out to sea
I do feel that I am drowning
In the love that you're sending me

All Day And All Of The Night

I'm leaving for England tomorrow!
Wow, I am so lucky. I'm nervous but so excited. British boys! Haha. I'm going to Liverpool too.
95% of this trip is about music sites and so on, which means it will be a real gas!

This is obviously one of the best songs to ever be made.

All Day And All Of The Night

I’m not content to be with you in the daytime
Girl I want to be with you all of the time
The only time I feel alright is by your side
Girl I want to be with you all of the time
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night

I believe that you and me last forever
Oh yea, all day and nighttime yours, leave me never
The only time I feel alright is by your side
Girl I want to be with you all of the time
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night
Oh, come on...

I believe that you and me last forever
Oh yea, all day and nighttime yours, leave me never
The only time I feel alright is by your side
Girl I want to be with you all of the time
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night time
All day and all of the night

Predictable

Psychoderelict Music Only is one of my favourite Pete albums of all time. So amazing.
This song really got to me. I listen to it constantly.

Predictable

Your love is so predictable
I can rely on you to blow my brain
You always know which trick to pull
I can predict you'll drive me wild-insane

Your love is so predictable
Oh yes it is x4

Your body's so delectable
I know for sure I'm gonna be amazed
You get me so erectable
I can predict you're gonna leave me raised

Your love is so predictable
Oh yes it is x4

Your love is always so theatrical
My performance should make you rave
Or I will have to hear the cat-you-call
I know how bad you misbehave

Your love is so predictable
It's just like climbing in a laser plane
You always know which trick to pull
Just as I'm driving deep down again

Your love is always so theatrical
My performance better make you rave
Or I will have to hear the cat-you-call
I know how bad you can misbehave

Most lovers' lovin' is heart-a-beatin' it
Depends on a tension to keep intact
This lover's lovin' is hard to beat it
Will a'lend pretentious to the matter of fact

Your love is so predictable
You take this Taurus boy by the horn
But you know how to tick the bull
I can predict you're gonna have me torn

Your love is always so theatrical
My performance better make you rave
Or I will have to hear the cat-you-call
I know how bad you misbehave

You love is so

You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go

First of all, may Dana Reeve rest in peace, she is in my thoughts today.

This song I originally heard by Madeleine Peyroux. I absolutely loved the arrangement. Then I found out it was written by the one and only Mr. Bobby Dylan. That was an amazing feeling.

You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go

I've seen love go by my door
It's never been this close before
Never been so easy or so slow.
Been shooting in the dark too long
When somethin's not right it's wrong
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go.

Dragon clouds so high above
I've only known careless love,
It's always hit me from below.
This time around it's more correct
Right on target, so direct,
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go.

Purple clover, Queen Anne lace,
Crimson hair across your face,
You could make me cry if you don't know.
Can't remember what I was thinkin' of
You might be spoilin' me too much, love,
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go.

Flowers on the hillside, bloomin' crazy,
Crickets talkin' back and forth in rhyme,
Blue river runnin' slow and lazy,
I could stay with you forever
And never realize the time.

Situations have ended sad,
Relationships have all been bad.
Mine've been like Verlaine's and Rimbaud.
But there's no way I can compare
All those scenes to this affair,
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go.

Yer gonna make me wonder what I'm doin',
Stayin' far behind without you.
Yer gonna make me wonder what I'm sayin',
Yer gonna make me give myself a good talkin' to.

I'll look for you in old Honolulu,
San Francisco, Ashtabula,
Yer gonna have to leave me now, I know.
But I'll see you in the sky above,
In the tall grass, in the ones I love,
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go.

A Quick One, While He's Away

Happy day late birthday Roger! What an amazing person you are!
This song is SO wonderful. The guitar work, Roger's vocals, Pete's vocals, bass riffs, and Keith's work on it. It's really what got me into the Who. I heard it first on Rock 'n Roll Circus and then The Kids Are Alright (same version). Then I bought a live version and got the studio version when I bought the album. I also have a live version from the DVD "The Who - 30 Years of Maximum R&B". It's so mesmerizing to watch live. Wow.
I listened to it almost everyday over the summer, but when school started I didn't listen to it as often which made it even more special when I did listen to it.
20 days until my trip to England! Ahhhh!

A Quick One, While He's Away

I. Her Man's Been Gone

Her man's been gone
For nearly a year
He was due home yesterday
But he ain't here
Her man's been gone
For nigh on a year
He was due home yesterday
But he ain't here

II. Crying Town

Down your street your crying is a well-known sound
Your street is very well known, right here in town
Your town is very famous for the little girl
Whose cries can be heard all around the world

III. We Have A Remedy

Fa la la la la la
Fa la la la la x2
We have a remedy
You'll appreciate
No need to be so sad
He's only late
We'll bring you flowers and things
Help pass your time
We'll give him eagle's wings
Then he can fly to you
Fa la la la la la
Fa la la la la x4
We have a remedy
Fa la la la la la la x4
(spoken)
We have a remedy.
We have!

Little girl guide, why don't you stop your crying?
Here comes Ivor the engine driver to make you feel much better

IV. Ivor The Engine Driver

My name is Ivor
I'm an engine driver
I know him well
I know why you feel blue
Just 'cause he's late
Don't mean he'll never get through
He told me he loves you
He ain't no liar, I ain't either
So let's have a smile for an old engine driver
So let's have a smile for an old engine driver
Please take a sweet
Come take a walk with me
We'll sort it out
Back at my place, maybe
It'll come right
You ain't no fool, I ain't either
So why not be nice to an old engine driver?
Better be nice to an old engine driver
Better be nice to an old engine driver
< Studio Version

V. Soon Be Home

We'll soon be home
We'll soon be home
We'll soon
We'll soon, soon, soon be home x2

Come on, old horse

Soon be home
Soon be home
Soon
We'll soon, soon, soon be home
We'll soon
We'll soon, soon, soon be home
We'll soon be home
Soon be home ...

VI. You Are Forgiven

Dang, dang, dang, dang, dang, dang, dang, dang, dang
Cello, cello, cello, cello, cello, cello x4

I can't believe it
Do my eyes deceive me?
Am I back in your arms?
Away from all harm?

It's like a dream to be with you again
Can't believe that I'm with you again

I missed you and I must admit
I kissed a few and once did sit
On Ivor the Engine Driver's lap
And later with him, had a nap

You are forgiven, you are forgiven, you are forgiven ... (ad lib)

You are all forgiven
